Here's the thank you letter and picture from Bailey Snyder, the first recipient of the Evanston Cycling Club's annual PEDAL Scholarship. Congratulations and best of luck, Bailey!

Dear Cycling Club,

I am proud and honored to be the first recipient of the PEDAL (Promoting Educational Development and Learning) Scholarship.  Working with the Chamber of Commerce I had first hand experience with the High Uintas Classic and Wolverine Ridge XC races and appreciate the tourism and healthy lifestyle these exciting events bring to our community.  My high school career has been geared toward academics and community service demonstrated by my participation with the March of Dimes, Relay for Life, Safe Kids, Seat Belt Safety, Renewal Ball, and numerous other projects amplified by my membership with Student Council and National Honor Society.

I have chosen to attend the University of New Mexico and will be majoring in pre-med/biology.  I hope my career in medicine will serve cyclists well should they find themselves in the unfortunate situation of needing medical care.

Thank you again for this honor; your confidence that I am a deserving student and citizen with a promising future is motivating and inspiring to me.
